Practices for Spiritual Awakening
Things to keep in mind while navigating and learning Spiritual Awakening practices:
You could use many different tools to aide your Spiritual Awakening. The goal should be, in my opinion, to use various (as appeal to you now and over your progression over time) different tools. I’ve outlined some of my favorites below but you may have your own you want to use. Here are some things to keep in mind with the practices below, at a higher level than the specific practices you use.
Your favorite spiritual practice(s) will change as you evolve:
A practice you don’t like or doesn’t seem relevant to you now doesn’t mean it has no value for you for you in the future. It means it doesn’t have value for you now. Be open to changing and experimenting with new practices in your journey. At the same time don’t flip around too much between them. I would suggest you do a practice ‘enough’ to see its potential benefits but not so much that you feel you have plateaued with it either. In my experience I often go months or years with one before I plateau but you mileage may vary. This is ‘where you will get ‘the art’ of it where you need to simply move through the journey gaining experience for yourself along the way in order to guide you as to when is the right time to move to another practice.
The concept of a ‘menu’ vs a ‘prescription’:
The practices below may or may not be things you think are ‘for you’ but I would like you to consider it as a Menu of options. A menu has some concepts that I like in terms of thinking about spiritual awakening.
- A menu as a concept allows ‘choice’. You may ask the waiter for a recommendation but generally speaking you choose a meal of your choice according to what you are drawn to. We have natural tendencies based on our Karma from spiritual development in previous lives which tend us to find effective certain practices more than others. In this life we feel drawn to similar practices. For me that was Yoga and exercise as mild moving forms of meditation. Then Psychedelics and then many more tools as I progressed.
- A menu also has the concept ‘of ‘stages’ ie starters, mains and deserts and drinks. You spiritual awakening comes in stages and a certain tool may appeal to you at a particular stage. Psychedelics may completely ‘turn you off’ now but in 15 years you may think differently about them. The tools which naturally appeal to us are the ones we should pursue. When we have pursued these to their natural conclusion or lesson we may feel a need to try something else.
- At this time we may ask ourselves or indeed ask Deity (through prayer described below) to instruct us or ‘send us a sign’ as to how to proceed. If you are new to Spiritual Awakening never underestimate your ability to ‘get stuck’ in the material realm. That is in fact the point of it in some sense. When we are confused or stuck we can directly ask to Deities to give us clues and help us find our spiritual path. In fact, some of my fastest progressions have been when I directly ask for Deity to help me progress on my path. In fact over the last year this has indeed led me to writing this for you.
- I used Theurgic Magick to ask Deity to help me find my path and things progressed very rapidly but not so much that I was overwhelmed. I have not detailed Theurgic Magick here but instead these days prefer the more flexible worship as described by Orphic (Ancient Greece of around 800BC) Traditions. I will teach you this below.
Multiple Practices at the same time:
You also might want to use several practices at once. Personally I do several of the practices below over the course of a day, Christ Oil Cycles monthly and Psychedelics on a frequency of perhaps every 1-3 years depending. Going forward I aim to do them annually.
Order of practices below:
I have ordered these somewhat in order from ‘beginner friendly’ to more advanced techniques but that is not to say you couldn’t jump around depending on your preference and the stage you are at.
A “pull” towards Spiritual Awakening:
Along the path to Spiritual Awakening we often feel a ‘pull’, this is your intuition guiding you and I would say this is perhaps the most important aspect or method in your journey. At first your intuition is garbled and unclear but over time is refines itself and you can become quiet accurate with it. It’s an art more than a science. You need experience to interpret it although The Christ Oil Cycles described below can aide in developing this slowly and surely without the need for strong psychedelics.
I would even go so far as to say what we call ‘intuition’ is actually ‘deity’ or ‘spirit guides’ or ‘higher self’ guiding you and communicating with you in a way which is natural to them. They don’t, so much, have linguistic skills like we do. The word commune is more appropriate. Deity ‘talks to us’ (ie in a communion) in symbol, emotion, feelings, intuition, dream, synchronicity, music, art etc etc. Along the journey of awakening you will “gain” (refine is a better word in my opinion as these are innate) psychic powers and this is in fact how ‘intuition’ becomes a very clear instruction or voice (telepathically). Those with very refined psychic abilities directly channel with higher beings.
NB: Artistic pursuit could easily be added to the list of practices below I’m just not particularly musical or artistic in ways where I actually produce art – although I have become adept at appreciating art as a very strong method of communion. If this is a pull for you by all means pursue it. These are perhaps the most effective forms of communion and in fact are components of some of the practices below. For eg, mantra is music and also a kind of poetry. Some magickal rituals do actually involve singing in parts of them, religious practices often combine music and dance in their rituals and the Orphic style prayer below involves artistic appreciation.
Stopping and starting:
At various times we will fall in and out of ‘synch’ with our practice as our life goes through stresses and strains, changes, plateaus, etc etc. As such your connection may be stronger or weaker at certain times but for me there was always an great interest (a pull as I described above) that I would come back to even if I fell off the path for days, weeks, months or even years. This is all part of the process. If you are out of synch then I suggest Prayer then Christ Oil Cycles and diet can bring you back to place of better connection with your path.
Practices to aid Spiritual Awakening
Walking
Psychological Benefits:
The psychological benefits allow us to transition and destress enough for us to get access to the more contemplative aspects.
- Stress Reduction: Walking helps in reducing stress by lowering cortisol levels. The rhythmic nature of walking can calm the mind, reducing anxiety and promoting relaxation.
- Mood Enhancement: Physical activity like walking releases endorphins, which are natural mood lifters. It’s also linked with increased serotonin levels, which can help in alleviating depression.
- Cognitive Function: Walking boosts blood flow to the brain, which can improve cognitive functions such as memory, attention, and problem-solving.
- Self-Esteem and Body Image: Regular walking can enhance one’s self-esteem by providing a sense of accomplishment and helping in maintaining or improving physical health.
- Social Interaction: In our particular case we want to reduce social interaction in order to allow it to be contemplative.
Reflective and Meditative Aspects:
- Mindfulness: Walking can be practiced as a form of mindfulness meditation, focusing on sensations like the feel of the ground underfoot or the rhythm of breath.
- Mental Clarity: The repetitive motion allows the mind to wander or focus inward, leading to insights or solving personal dilemmas.
- Nature’s Influence: Walking in natural settings can enhance the meditative quality by providing a calming environment for deeper introspection.
- Rhythmic Pace: The pace of walking can synchronize with breathing or thought patterns, creating a meditative state.
- Detachment from Technology: Walking without devices encourages a break from the digital world, offering space for reflection.
Practical Tips for Reflective Walking:
- Choose Scenic or Quiet Routes: Preferably in nature for a calming backdrop.
- Focus on Senses: Pay attention to what you see, hear, smell, and feel to ground yourself in the present.
- Set Intentions: Consider what you might want to reflect upon or aim to clear your mind.
- Mindful Breathing: Coordinate your breath with your steps to deepen the meditative experience.
- Allow Thoughts to Flow: Don’t judge or force your thoughts, let them come and go as you walk.
Mindfulness Journaling:
Although Mindfulness Journaling is a practice I covered separately in a previous lesson it could also be considered a practice but I covered it separately because it, in my opinion, is a sort of ‘meta practice’ which underpins and creates synergies with all the other practices. It wraps a structure around the particular practices below into a routine and let’s us see where we are unconsciously falling off the path.
It is these unconscious ‘failings’ that are actually ‘Spiritual Gold’ as once we make these mistakes a few times (while in parallel journaling about them) are able to bring these unconscious behaviours into the ‘light of consciousness’ so to speak. Once we have seen how and when they occur we can make very real world conscious decisions to correct for them. Over a few months or years this is highly, highly effective in all sorts of ways including Spiritual Awakening.
Yoga (Yin Yoga specifically)
In the West Yoga is though of as ‘exercise’ or ‘stretching’ and not so much of as path for Spiritual Awakening but the physical nature of Yoga is similar, but more of a science, to the psychological effects of walking. The physical actions seek to de-stress us and slowly we become to the more reflective and meditative aspects of Yoga. Yoga has however many more advanced techniques than walking in order to advance spiritually.
There are many types of Yoga to practice but for Spiritual Progression the slower, less ‘power’ forms are preferred. For that reason I suggest Yin Yoga is a great way method for Spiritual Development. It was developed by monks who had very serious sitting meditative practices and they required asanas (positions) which allowed them to sit longer physically in order to meditate longer to access the spiritual benefits of meditation and mantra – which I cover below also.
General Physical Benefits of Yoga
Yoga integrates physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation, offering numerous health benefits. Regular practice increases flexibility by stretching and lengthening muscles, builds strength through weight-bearing poses, and improves posture by encouraging alignment and balance. Yoga also enhances circulation, which aids in better oxygenation of tissues, and can help in pain relief by targeting areas like the lower back through specific poses. Additionally, yoga’s focus on breathing and relaxation can reduce stress levels, which in turn contributes to lowering cortisol, potentially aiding in weight management and overall health.
- Better Balance and Coordination: Many yoga poses require balance, which can improve proprioception and coordination.
- Joint Health: Yoga helps lubricate joints, increase range of motion, and may reduce arthritis risk.
- Respiratory Health: Pranayama techniques can expand lung capacity and manage respiratory conditions like asthma.
Physical Benefits Specific to Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga, characterized by holding poses for three to five minutes or more, targets the deeper connective tissues rather than the muscles. This practice promotes deep tissue release, enhancing flexibility and joint mobility by stimulating synovial fluid production. It’s particularly effective for myofascial release, reducing tension in areas like the hips and lower back, and improving circulation to connective tissues. The meditative aspect of Yin Yoga also significantly reduces stress and anxiety, leading to a calmer nervous system, which can alleviate physical symptoms like muscle tension. Moreover, it aids in recovery from intense physical activity, promotes better sleep due to its relaxing nature, and increases body awareness, helping practitioners identify and address areas of tightness or imbalance.
Mantra
What is a Mantra in Vedic Terms?
In Vedic terms, a mantra is:
- Sacred Sound: A syllable, word, or phrase in Sanskrit, seen as a vibration of cosmic energy, originating from the universe’s sound (nāda).
- Spiritual Tool: Used for purification, protection, healing, and manifestation by aligning one’s consciousness with higher spiritual vibrations.
- Mantra Shakti: Each mantra holds inherent power or energy (shakti) which can be harnessed for spiritual or material goals.
- Connection to Deities: Associated with specific deities for invoking divine presence, blessings, or guidance.
- Meditation Aid: Helps focus the mind in meditation, leading to concentration, meditation, and potentially enlightenment.
- Ritual Use: Integral to Vedic rituals to sanctify actions and set intentions.
- Initiation: Traditionally received through a formal initiation from a guru, ensuring proper use and understanding.
- Symbolism: Carries literal, symbolic, and spiritual meanings, enhancing its impact when understood deeply.
A mantra in Vedic tradition is a profound spiritual instrument that connects the human with the divine, aiding in spiritual awakening and liberation.
How can a Mantra benefit us in a Spiritual Awakening?
- Sound and Vibration (Nāda Brahma): In Vedic thought, the universe is considered to be created from sound (nāda), with the primordial sound often represented as “Om” or “Aum”. Mantras, being specific sound vibrations, are believed to resonate with the cosmic vibration, aligning the practitioner with universal energies. This resonance is thought to lead to spiritual awakening and enlightenment.
- Purification of Consciousness: Mantras are used to purify the mind by focusing thoughts and reducing the random fluctuations of the mind (chitta vritti). This purification process helps in attaining a state of meditation or dhyāna, where one can transcend ordinary consciousness to experience higher states of awareness.
- Concentration and Meditation (Dharana and Dhyana): Mantras aid in concentration (dharana). By focusing on the repetition of a mantra, one can achieve a meditative state (dhyana). This focus helps in withdrawing from external distractions, leading to inner peace and spiritual growth.
- Connection to Deity or Cosmic Forces: Many mantras are linked to specific deities or aspects of the divine in Hinduism. Chanting these mantras is believed to invoke the deity’s energy or to align oneself with certain cosmic forces. This connection is thought to offer protection, blessings, and spiritual guidance.
- Mantra Shakti (Power of Mantra): Vedic texts like the Upanishads discuss the inherent power (shakti) of mantras. They suggest that mantras have the potency to transform one’s mental state, heal, protect, and even manifest desires, provided they are used with proper understanding and intention.
- Purifying Karma: The repetition of mantras is believed to purify one’s karma. By aligning with the divine through mantras, one can mitigate the effects of past actions, leading to liberation (moksha) from the cycle of birth and death.
- Altering Brain States: Although not explicitly stated in ancient texts, from a modern perspective, the repetitive nature of mantra chanting can induce changes in brain wave patterns, leading to states conducive for spiritual experiences, similar to deep meditation or even samadhi.
- Ritualistic and Devotional Aspects: Mantras are integral to various Vedic rituals (yajnas) and devotional practices (bhakti). They are used to set intentions, sanctify actions, and connect with the divine in a ritualistic context, which is thought to enhance spiritual merit and closeness to Brahman (the ultimate reality).
- Unlocking Inner Potentials: The Vedas describe mantras as keys to unlock one’s inner spiritual potential. They are seen as tools for self-realization, where one recognizes the unity between the individual self (Atman) and the universal self (Brahman).
- Healing and Well-being: Mantras are also considered to have therapeutic effects, promoting physical and mental health, which indirectly supports spiritual growth by creating a more harmonious internal environment.
In Vedic tradition, the effectiveness of mantras is not only in their sound but also in the intention, the method of chanting, and the spiritual discipline of the chanter. Proper initiation (diksha) from a guru and adherence to the prescribed method are often seen as crucial for mantras to yield their full spiritual benefits but are not strictly necessary to begin.
Here is a Mantra I have used effectively which you do not strictly need initiation in however, if you can find this near you then its a good idea. Note, however that I do not promote “Guru’s” or any spiritual leader long term**.
** I may take instruction from certain knowledgeable people from time to time but I don’t rely on them for guidance for more than is required. Humans are all still in a very low spiritual vibration (generally speaking with respect to Yuga Cycles) and its very easy to go astray by ‘following a guru’ very closely for long periods of time. This includes me and this site. Come here for instruction, skills and advice but ultimately ‘you are the Guru’.
Which Mantra?:
I like to use Gaytri Mantra because it is highly flexible in that while the same Mantra can be chanted by many people it gives to them an individualized response – i.e it allows them to give them what they need. Below is the Gaytri itself and some instructions on how to use it.
Gaytri Mantra instructions:
- “The best time as per documented data is 3.30 to 4.30 AM, the Brahma time. Scientifically this is where your energies for projection are the strongest. However, it can be chanted early morning, before sunrise or before sunset” if these hours do not suit you. (src: @shuvam)
- You can use an intention before you start but if you are unsure of a particular one just ask for healing and progression in the spiritual path.
- Use an intention with your practice before you start. An intention is something you hope to get out of the practice. Perhaps healing physically or emotionally or gratitude or love as examples but could be anything you want even protection from negative influences. Using an intention aligns your energies to that of the Mantra.
- The amount of times you chant the Mantra is important. For eg, the Gaytri Mantra given below is 108 repetitions which is a spiritually significant number not randomly chosen.
- Aim to do daily for at least 10 days (in a row, same time daily more or less) if you use this Mantra while using an intention to see good results.
Sitting Meditation:
A sitting meditation is quite the skill to master. Some people prefer it but some people find it very difficult. If you are struggling with this then I suggest Mantra is a better alternative. If Mantra is also very difficult then go ‘down the rung’ of complexity to walking or Yin Yoga as described here.
Courses: I do not offer a course on Meditation at this time but may in the future. If you want a curriculum that is free AND comprehensive (8 weeks with certificate) see Palouse Mindfulness Curse which I have done and can attest it is very effective and a great introduction to the space.

Process for Developing a Sitting Meditation Practice
- Set Your Intention:
Decide why you want to meditate. Is it for stress relief, spiritual growth, or something else? This will guide your practice.
- Choose a Quiet Location:
Find a peaceful spot where you won’t be disturbed. It could be a corner in your home or a quiet place outdoors.
- Set a Time:
Determine how long you’ll meditate. Start with short sessions, perhaps 5-10 minutes, and gradually increase the duration.
- Find a Comfortable Posture:
Sit in a way that’s comfortable but alert. You can sit on a chair, cushion, or the floor with legs crossed. Keep your back straight but relaxed. Hands can rest on your knees or in your lap.
- Close or Lower Your Eyes:
Closing or gently lowering your eyes helps minimize distractions. If you prefer, maintain a soft gaze a few feet in front of you.
- Focus on Your Breath:
Bring your attention to your breath. Notice the inhalation and exhalation. If your mind wanders (which it will), gently bring it back to your breath without judgment.
- Use a Mantra or Object of Focus:
If focusing on breath is challenging, you might use a mantra to repeat silently or focus on an object like a candle flame or a simple image.
- Body Scan (Optional):
Some find it helpful to do a quick body scan, mentally noting any tension and consciously relaxing those areas.
- Handle Distractions:
Thoughts, sounds, or physical sensations will arise. Acknowledge them, and then return your focus to your meditation object (breath, mantra, etc.).
- End Gently:
When your time is up, don’t jump right up. Slowly bring awareness back to your surroundings, perhaps with a few deep breaths or a gentle stretch.
- Reflect:
After meditation, take a moment to reflect on your experience. What did you notice? How do you feel?
- Consistency is Key:
Try to meditate at the same time each day to build a habit. Even if you miss a day, gently return to your practice without self-criticism.
- Expand Your Practice:
Over time, you might explore different types of meditation like loving-kindness meditation, body scan meditation, or guided meditations.
- Seek Guidance (Optional):
Consider joining a meditation group or using apps, books, or workshops for guidance if you find it beneficial.
Remember: The goal isn’t to have a ‘perfect’ meditation where the mind is completely still but rather to cultivate awareness of the present moment, accepting whatever arises. With patience and practice, the benefits of meditation can become profound.
Prayer / Magick / Worship:
There are many kinds of Prayer or Worship and actually I consider them all a form of ‘Magick’ assuming Magick is defined as a ritualised method of connecting or communing with higher beings (Deity, Angels, Devas, higher selves, God or gods etc etc). These kinds of things can be very effective at asking for ‘divine inspiration’ and help in various matters.
For example, you could ask for help on a particular topic. Believe it or not higher beings are always available to you and listening. The ritualized methods of Magick, worship and Prayer are tried and true material world actions (ie multiple special actions forming a ritual) you can do to aide your communication with them.
These things are their own skillset and classes could be taught on them in depth but here I will outline a very easy method to communicate with The Ancient Greek Gods (Orphic Tradition) which does not have a very high barrier for entry and is highly effective as well as very flexible based on your time. It can take as little as 3-15 minutes a day and does not require elaborate rituals like some forms of Magick do. You can ask these deities for help with health needs or spiritual progression and many other things – basically anything.
NB: Your mileage may vary and I am not trying to suggest you can perform miracles with this method. Like I say these things can be taught as whole topics unto themselves and I have not gone into great depth with them here.
Orphic Hym’s Document:
Here is a PDF giving you each of the Orphic Hym’s which you would incorporate into the below daily routine.
Simplified Version for Beginners or if you are in a rush:
For those new to or short on time (this one takes only 3 minutes or so) for the practice:
- Light a candle
- Read “Orpheus to Mousaios” Hym (see PDF above)
- Offer personal prayers
- Extinguish the candle
This process is designed to facilitate a daily connection with Greek deities through structured worship, using the Orphic Hymns as a means to honor and connect with the divine. If you have a longer period with which you can spend like 15 minutes or so then try the below method.
Understanding the Ritual Basis:
The system uses Hesiod’s sacred month from “Works and Days” as a framework for daily devotions, incorporating the Orphic Hymns.
Preparation for Worship:
- Lighting a Candle: Start the ritual by lighting a candle to signify the beginning of the devotional practice.
- Reading “Orpheus to Mousaios”: This is an invocation or prayer that prepares the worshipper for the main hymns.
Offering Incense:
- Incense Selection: Each hymn is associated with specific incense:
- Frankincense: Suitable for many deities like Apollo, Ares, Artemis, etc.
- Storax: Used for deities like Dionysus and Eleusinian Demeter.
- Aromatic Herbs: For others where incense isn’t specified.
- Blending Incense: If multiple hymns are to be recited, you can blend the incense or use a single type like frankincense for all.
- If you don’t have the specific incense don’t worry just find what you can.
Reciting the Hymns:
- Daily Devotions: Each day of Hesiod’s sacred month corresponds to different deities or groups of deities:
- Days are structured so that certain hymns are read on specific days, aligning with the sacred calendar.
- Hymns are read in order, but there’s flexibility for substitution based on preference or need.
- Hymn Numbers: The article references hymn numbers from Apostolos N. Athanassakis’ translation for clarity.
Concluding the Ritual:
- Personal Prayers: After the hymns, include your personal prayers or requests to the deities.
- Extinguishing the Candle: End the ritual by extinguishing the candle, symbolizing the conclusion of the worship.
Christ Oil Cycles / Cerebrospinal Fluid Cycle:
A Christ Oil Cycle is a monthly natural process in your body which releases Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF). CSF is a plasma like clear substance used in many places of the body to great benefit. It is also believed (I can support this belief personally based on my experiences with both Ayahuasca and these cycles) that this process stimulates DMT (psychoactive agent N,N-Dimethyltryptamin) production from the Pineal Gland also.
The release of these two compounds allows both physical and psychological healing as well as Spiritual Progression. CSF supports many physical benefits as shown below but also the DMT breaks down The Default Mode Network of the brain which filters out, for the most part, Spiritual Information from your experience of day to day life.
Physical benefits from Cerebrospinal Fluid:
Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) plays several critical roles in maintaining the health and function of the central nervous system, primarily by providing physical benefits to the brain and spinal cord. One of its primary functions is to act as a shock absorber, cushioning the brain against impacts from sudden movements or injuries. This protective layer helps prevent direct trauma to neural tissues, which can be particularly vulnerable due to their delicate nature. Additionally, CSF maintains a constant pressure around the brain and spinal cord, which is essential for preventing pressure-related damage like herniation or ischemia, where blood supply to the brain might be compromised due to excessive pressure.
Moreover, CSF facilitates the removal of metabolic waste products from the brain. Through a process known as the glymphatic system, CSF circulates through the brain tissue, flushing out toxins, including beta-amyloid, which is implicated in neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s. This cleansing action not only supports neural health but also aids in maintaining the chemical environment necessary for proper neuronal function. By regulating the buoyancy of the brain, CSF also minimizes the effective weight of the brain, reducing friction between the brain and the skull, thereby allowing for slight movements without causing damage. This buoyancy effect is crucial for the brain’s ability to adapt to positional changes like standing up or lying down.
Spiritual Benefits from DMT:
The concept of the “Christ Oil Cycle” or “Sacred Secretion” is rooted in esoteric interpretations of spiritual symbolism and ancient practices, suggesting a monthly cycle where a substance, likened to an oil or secretion, travels through the body, potentially offering spiritual benefits. According to these teachings, this cycle aligns with the phases of the moon and involves the journey of this oil from the brain down the spine and back up again, symbolizing a kind of internal transformation and renewal. Proponents believe this process can enhance spiritual awareness, leading to a deeper connection with the divine by activating dormant brain cells and elevating consciousness to what is referred to as a higher level of understanding. This process is seen as an internal alchemy, where the individual can experience a form of spiritual purification or enlightenment, often linked to the idea of being anointed or blessed.
The spiritual benefits attributed to this cycle include an increased ability to perceive higher planes of consciousness, essentially acting as an internal catalyst for spiritual awakening without external substances. By preserving and utilizing this secretion, one is thought to engage in a natural form of spiritual practice that can lead to profound personal transformation, insight, and an understanding of one’s purpose. This cycle is described as providing access to inner wisdom, often symbolized in various spiritual texts and traditions as the “anointing” or the “oil of gladness.” The practice promotes virtues like patience, purity, and discipline, which are believed to enhance one’s spiritual journey, fostering a sense of inner peace, divine protection, and spiritual renewal. However, these claims are based on interpretations of spiritual texts and should be approached with an understanding that they are not universally accepted and lack scientific validation.
How can one undergo a Christ Oil Cycle to gain these benefits?
It is quite simple to undertake a Christ Oil cycle.
- You first must understand when the Moon is in your Astrological House of birth (eg Libra for example).
- The Moon, throughout the Month move through each of the houses and will be in your particular one for 2-3 days every month.
- During this 2-3 day period, and a few days before and after ideally, you eat an Alkaline Diet (ie no animal products and no acidic foods) which allows the CSF and DMT to propagate through your body properly. The reason why you haven’t, likely, noticed this process yet before is because your body is probabaly in an acidic state which ‘cuts’ these compounds from having their effect.
- This is why in Spiritual Traditions often you hear of them removing meat from the diet to aide spiritual development. This knowledge has been lost for the most part however and many adepts do not know why they are doing it.
I wrote a full course on how to undertake a Christ Oil Cycle in full which you can view for free or if you’d like to read more on this topic see my guide to the Christ Oil Cycle.
Psychedelics:
Ayahuasca:
Ayahuasca is a psychedelic tea made from plants and has its origins in The Amazon although many pre-chritian cultures used similar DMT based methods. Famously, The Ancient Greek ‘Mysteries’ and Soma from The Vedas we possibly DMT based psychedelic potions used in Spiritual Awakening and Shamanistic type ceremonies. An Ayahuasca Ceremony from The Amazon region is a similar, although through different cultural lens from the various tribes who have used it for thousands of years, tradition but one that we modern people have access to in an unbroken line. The Monist Religion’s (Christianity, Judaism and Islam) of our era have largely crushed these traditions in Europe and India as well as many other places so Amazonian peoples are a way that us modern people can access knowledge about how to use Psychedelics to Spiritually Awaken as our Bronze Age ancestors used to prior to these influences.
Note: you modern religion matters not in terms of Spiritual Awakening – even monist religions have their esoteric traditions they are just quite jumbled up amongst the more orthodox and controlling aspects of the organized and institutional versions of these ie Catholic Church being an example of the institution and the ‘Christ Consciousness’ being an example of the esoteric understanding these religions have.
Drinking Ayahuasca in ceremonial fashion as per Amazonian traditions (Shipibo for example as I am familiar with) requires significant preparation and commitment to the process and in some cases even traveling to The Amazon to take part. As such these aspects can be considered ‘sacrifice’ or ‘humility’ and it is humility and sacrifice that will gain you half of the spiritual benefit – not just the substance itself. This is why Ayahuasca has, in my opinion, greater ability to Spiritually Awaken because it requires more sacrifice and humility from you compared to other psychedelics for eg Psilocybin.
You can learn about how to prepare for Ayahuasca in my very detailed guide which includes instruction on The Dieta and how to prepare safely and effectively. If you simply want to learn more about Ayahuasca more generally I have a full guide here.
Note: If you prepare for Ayahuasca very thoroughly you can also gain the opportunity to undergo 2 Christ Oil Cycles because the length of preparation before and after as well as the fact you are already in a PH neutral or Alkaline state in terms of your diet.
Notes on psycedelics:
- Here I cover Macro/Heroic doses DMT (Ayahuasca) but will in time add Psilocybin in large doses and indeed Micro Dosing as well. Note that the difference between these and The Christ Oil Cycle above is that with these methods you would be ingesting organic plants for the deliberate purpose of taking advantage of their psychedelic properties. In the psychedelic world the large does are referred to as Heroic Doses ie they require some fortitude of character in order to ‘brave’ them.
- In truth they are not so scary and all the fear is taken out of them when you understand how to prepare for these doses properly. Once understood these are very powerful and effective vehicles to progress your Spiritual Awakening. However, a word of caution, these are not necessary to Develop Spiritually and indeed everyone is on their own path. Hence I only recommend Psychedelics in Heroic doses to those who are very interested or ‘called’ to them. They are not for casual use like you may see some people do at parties or ‘getting buzzed’ with their friends a few times a year.
- I use macro doses of Psychedelics sparingly and with great preparation and intention as well as spiritual protection. I have deliberately not included Micro Dosing of Psilocybin here but that I will add that in the future as I am still refining my process with these.
